Sweet
Concepts Takes A Stand Against The Inflation Of Sugar Prices
To America
Momeyer,
NC – As sugar prices continue to increase in the United
States, J. Brooks West, III, President/CEO of Sweet Concepts
Companies, and his alter ego, JW Butterfield, are taking a stand
for the confectionary industry. West is attempting to lower
these prices to help bring jobs back to America.
Late
last year, JW Butterfield went to Washington D.C. to speak to
the country's representatives about the Sugar Price Support
System and the resulting inflation of sugar prices within the
United States. Among many others, Mr. Butterfield spoke to the
offices of Senators Dole and Edwards, as well as Congressmen
Etheridge and Miller.
In
response to Mr. Butterfield's visit to Washington, Congressman
Etheridge visited Sweet Concepts Companies' manufacturing plant
in Nashville, North Carolina. The visit consisted of a plant
tour where Congressman Etheridge was able to meet the employees
and see how Buds® are made Later he and West discussed the
Sugar Price Support Systems.
West
also attended the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair in
Cologne, Germany on January 30 - February 2 2005, where he held
a press conference addressed to the international press. West
welcomed the European market and delivered a speech on the power
of the Euro, the needs of the confectionary consumer, and the
cost of importing/exporting in today's economy.
"Daily
we are growing closer in our accessibility to each other's products
and services," stated West. "When we shake hands today
to trade our goods, American with Armenian, Belgian with Belarus,
and Canadian with Croatian, let us keep in mind what it is that
we do, This opportunity offers mutual chance for market consumption
and penetration. We are in a business that makes life lighter,
happier, and in a peaceful arena uncommon by its nature in groups
with so many flags."
Later
this year, from March 8 - 11, West will attend the Foodex Japan
2005, one of the largest international trade events in the food
and beverage industry, where he will introduce the Butterfields
brand to the Japanese market. As West puts it, "I'm on
a journey bringing the world together, one piece of candy at
a time."
