When J.W. Butterfield made his first tin of hard candy, he made more than a product, he made commitments: to make hard candy the right way, by hand; to use only the best ingredients — pure cane sugar; to always add a touch of coconut for extra flavor.

Today, 80 years later, we're making hard candy pretty much the same way. We've added flavors here and there, changed the size and design of the packages from time to time,

but we always do our best to do Mr. B. proud, so the Butterfields that you buy today is basically the same Butterfields that J.W. made in 1924.
